MIT ADT Pune Admission 2026: Cutoff, Fees & Placements

MIT Art, Design and Technology University (MIT ADT) is a private university established in 2015 by an Act of the Maharashtra State Legislature, with its campus at Vishwa Rajbaug, Loni Kalbhor, on the Pune–Solapur highway (Pune 412201). It is a separate legal entity from MIT-WPU Kothrud and from MIT Academy of Engineering Alandi — do not mix up their forms, fees or cutoff talk.

Engineering sits inside the Faculty of Engineering, mainly through the MIT School of Engineering and Sciences (Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Computer, Robotics and AI) and the MIT School of Computing (Computer Science and Engineering with multiple specialisations). The university also runs design, management, food technology, bioengineering and maritime schools on the same campus.

Where it stands on verifiable markers:

• NAAC grade A, CGPA 3.11 on a 4-point scale, awarded in its first accreditation cycle (2025, valid five years — MIT ADT official announcement).

So the honest positioning: a large, young, multi-disciplinary private campus with mid-table national standing in engineering — not a COEP-tier state institute, and priced very differently, as the fee section shows.

MIT ADT is a private university, so B.Tech seats are not filled through Maharashtra's CAP counselling. The university runs its own admission process, and that changes how you plan.

Eligibility, as published on the MIT School of Engineering and Sciences programs page (AY2026-27): 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, minimum 50% in PCM for the open category and 45% for reserved categories, with English as a subject. You must also have qualified at least one engineering entrance exam — the university prepares merit considering scores in JEE (Main) 2026, MHT-CET 2026, PERA CET 2026, Uni-GAUGE 2026 or another state CET 2026.

The process itself, per the university's own FAQ:

• Apply online on the university admission portal (or visit the campus).
• Attend a counselling session, followed by a personal interview — the interview is used to match you to a discipline.

Branch-wise intake indicated on the same FAQ page: CSE 300, IT 60, Mechanical 180, Civil 60, Aerospace 60, ECE 60 — the page is undated, so treat the split as indicative and confirm the current year's intake in writing. Because allotment is application-driven rather than round-based CAP, popular branches like CSE effectively fill by merit plus application timing — applying late in the cycle is the most common self-inflicted wound here.

Two cautions. First, fees step up each year by design — budget on the published four-year schedule, not on Year 1 multiplied by four. In practice that means the effective "cutoff" is soft — it moves with the applicant pool for each branch and with how early you apply, rather than being frozen in a published round document.

How to use this as a buyer:

• Do not pay any consultant who quotes you a precise "closing percentile" for MIT ADT — no official document backs such a number.
• Ask the admissions office (admissions@mituniversity.edu.in) directly, in writing, whether your score qualifies for your target branch and for any merit scholarship.

The university homepage additionally claims "1200+ job offers", a "61+ LPA highest package" and "500+ recruiters" (mituniversity.ac.in, accessed July 2026). Treat these as the institution's own unaudited claims: no year-stamped placement report, no average salary, and no branch-wise breakdown is published. The campus at Loni Kalbhor sits on the Pune–Solapur highway near Loni Kalbhor railway station, about an hour by suburban rail from Pune station — it is a self-contained residential campus, not a city college.

Hostel facts from the university's own pages:

• Hostel is not compulsory (MIT School of Engineering FAQ).
• Allotment is first-come, first-served, confirmed only when the full academic year's hostel fee is paid through the TCSiON student portal (MIT ADT university-hostels page).
• Separate boys' and girls' hostels across 30+ on-campus and off-campus blocks, with 24/7 security, Wi-Fi, RO water, solar geysers, laundry and a vegetarian/Jain mess run with a student mess committee (same page).

On cost, the engineering FAQ states hostel plus mess comes to approximately ₹1,30,000 per year (MIT SoES FAQ, accessed July 2026 — stated as an approximation). Practical implications: because allotment is pay-first and first-come, hostel planning is part of admission timing, not an afterthought. And since the location is outside the city, day-scholar life realistically requires either the train or university transport — factor that cost in if you skip the hostel.

An honest fit-check, because a wrong ₹10-lakh-plus decision hurts more than a blunt paragraph:

• If your MHT-CET or JEE percentile can get you COEP, VJTI, PICT or SPIT through CAP — do not spend it here. Those seats cost a fraction of MIT ADT's ₹2.03–3.35 lakh per year (AY2026-27 schedule, official fee page) and carry longer placement track records. A private-university seat makes sense when the CAP alternatives at your rank are weaker, not stronger.

• If you want decision-grade placement transparency. No audited placement report, no average, no branch-wise medians are published. If you will not accept "ask the placement cell" as a step, this is friction you should price in.
• If you dislike process ambiguity. No CAP rounds, no published cutoffs, interview-based allotment and first-come hostel booking reward early, organised applicants — and punish families who decide late.
• If you want a city campus. Loni Kalbhor is residential-campus life, not Pune city life. Students who need the city's internship ecosystem at their doorstep should weigh that honestly.

The comparison that matters is not "which college is better" in the abstract — it is which door your score opens and what each door costs.

• Against COEP Pune and VJTI Mumbai (government-aided, CAP): these are the value benchmarks. Admission is purely percentile-driven through State CET Cell counselling, annual fees are a fraction of MIT ADT's ₹2.47–2.87 lakh Year-1 engineering slabs (AY2026-27, official fee page), and decades of alumni depth anchor placements. If your percentile reaches them, the decision is largely made. MIT ADT's counter-offer is breadth of programmes and an interview route that does not live or die on one exam day.
• Against PICT Pune and SPIT Mumbai (private, CAP, CS-focused): these are narrower, compute-centric colleges with published CAP cutoffs and strong recruiter pipelines into software roles. MIT ADT's CSE intake (300 seats per its FAQ) is bigger, but outcome data is less transparent — PICT-tier aspirants trade brand focus for MIT ADT's campus scale.
• Against VIT Pune (private, CAP + institutional): the closest cost-tier peer in the same city. VIT Pune still publishes CAP cutoffs and sits inside the state counselling system; MIT ADT sits outside it entirely. If predictability of process matters, that is the axis to weigh.

Rule of thumb: exhaust your CAP options first, then judge MIT ADT on its residential campus, programme breadth and the NIRF-verified median — not on brochure superlatives.
