SCMHRD Pune Admission 2027: Cutoff, Fees & Placements

SCMHRD — the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development — was established in 1993 and is a constituent institute of Symbiosis International (Deemed University). The degree is awarded by SIU, which holds a NAAC "A++" grade and UGC Category-I status (siu.edu.in, official About page). It is not a state-affiliated college and not an autonomous standalone institute.

The institute states it was re-accredited by AACSB in January 2025 (SCMHRD Final Placement Report 2023-25, official PDF) — worth checking independently on AACSB's own member directory rather than taking any website's word for it.

The campus is the Symbiosis Infotech Campus at Plot No. 15, Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, MIDC, Hinjawadi — inside Pune's IT belt rather than in the city itself.

Programmes listed on the official site:

• MBA, two years full-time residential — Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance, Operations Management, and Strategy, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Intake 180 seats.
• MBA (Business Analytics) — intake 90 seats.
• MBA (Infrastructure Development and Management) — intake 60 seats.
• MBA (Executive).

One verified negative worth knowing before you read any placement claim: SCMHRD does not appear in the NIRF 2024 or NIRF 2025 Management rankings. The only Symbiosis entry in either year is Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (rank 13, score 65.13 in NIRF 2024; rank 11, score 67.90 in NIRF 2025, nirfindia.org). Institutes choose whether to submit, so absence is not a quality verdict — but it does mean there is no NIRF-verified salary data for SCMHRD, and every figure below comes from the institute's own published documents.

There is one door, and the official site states it flatly: "No candidate is entitled to seek admission to the MBA Programmes of SCMHRD without a valid SNAP score" (scmhrd.edu, MBA programme page).

That closes the routes applicants ask about most. Because SCMHRD is a constituent of a deemed university, it does not admit through MAH MBA-CET or the DTE Maharashtra CAP counselling process, and there is no Maharashtra state quota seat. CAT, XAT, GMAT, MAT and CMAT scores are not accepted in place of SNAP.

The published sequence for the 2026-28 batch:

• Register at snaptest.org and pay ₹2,250 per attempt, plus ₹1,000 separately for each programme applied to (SNAP 2025 official portal). Up to three attempts are permitted.
• SNAP 2025 was held on 6, 14 and 20 December 2025 as a computer-based test — 60 questions in 60 minutes across General English (15), Analytical & Logical Reasoning (25) and Quantitative, DI & DS (20), one mark each, with 25% negative marking (snaptest.org, official syllabus page).
• Results 9 January 2026; GE-PI rounds 27 January – 3 February 2026; programme commences 4 June 2026 (scmhrd.edu, MBA admissions page).

The final merit weightage is published by the SNAP authority and is the single most useful number in this process: SNAP score scaled to 50 marks, Group Exercise 10 marks, Personal Interaction 40 marks (snaptest.org, entrance exam overview). Half the decision is made after the test, and the interview carries four times the weight of the group exercise. Attending every GE-PI component is mandatory — miss one and you are not considered for the merit list at all.

SCMHRD publishes an installment-wise fee table for Indian students. In one line: the first year is billed in two installments of ₹8,57,800 and ₹7,05,300, and the second year's hostel and mess components are not yet published. These are the figures exactly as printed under "Breakup of Fees for MBA Programme (2026 – 2028 Batch)" (scmhrd.edu, official MBA admissions page).

The first installment falls due at admission and the second by 25 November 2026. Year 2 installments are due 25 June 2027 and 25 November 2027, but the official table prints no Year 2 hostel or mess figure — it carries a footnote that these are communicated before the next academic year begins, that hostel and mess fees may rise by up to 15% each year, and that government taxes are additional. Because of that footnote no two-year total is officially published, and we will not multiply Year 1 to manufacture one. Ask the institute in writing for the Year 2 schedule before you commit.

The other programmes have their own tables for the same 2026-28 batch: the first installment is ₹6,99,300 for MBA (Business Analytics) and ₹6,01,300 for MBA (Infrastructure Development and Management) (scmhrd.edu, official programme pages). The deposits, hostel and mess components are identical across all three — only the academic fee differs.

SCMHRD does not publish a SNAP cut-off percentile in advance, and neither does the SNAP authority: [FIGURE MISSING — AY2026-27 SCMHRD SNAP shortlist percentile]. Anyone quoting you a precise "SCMHRD cutoff" is quoting an aggregator's reconstruction of what students reported, not an official release.

What is officially stated is the mechanism. Candidates are shortlisted for Group Exercise and Personal Interaction on their overall SNAP percentile, and each institute calculates cut-offs separately for each programme (snaptest.org, official entrance exam overview). So there is no single SCMHRD number: the MBA, MBA (Business Analytics) and MBA (IDM) lists are drawn independently, and the same percentile can clear one and miss another in the same year.

Three practical consequences follow from the published rules:

• The percentile is a gate, not a score you carry forward intact. Once through, your SNAP score is rescaled to 50 of 100 merit marks and GE-PI carries the other 50 (snaptest.org).
• Programme registration costs ₹1,000 each (SNAP 2025 portal), so applying to more than one SCMHRD programme buys more than one independent shot at a shortlist.
• With up to three SNAP attempts permitted, your best percentile is what counts — a weak first attempt is recoverable within the same cycle.

If you want a defensible target, work backwards from the merit maths rather than from a rumoured percentile. Clearing the shortlist with a large margin is worth less than interviewing well, because the Personal Interaction alone carries 40 of the 100 merit marks.

SCMHRD publishes annual placement reports as PDFs on its own site, which makes this the most checkable section on this page. The most recent final report covers Batch 2023-25 (SCMHRD Final Placement Report 2023-2025, official PDF).

In one line: specialisation medians for Batch 2023-25 run from ₹13.60 LPA to ₹21.63 LPA, and every specialisation shows a wide gap between the median and the headline "highest" figure.

Read the median column, not the highest. The ₹35.90 LPA marketing number is one offer to one student. The report also prints top-decile averages — ₹32.58 LPA in HR and ₹34.73 LPA in marketing — which is precisely why the average sits above the median in most specialisations.

The same report lists 118+ total recruiters and 50+ new recruiters for the batch, with BFSI at 30.11% of visiting companies, engineering and manufacturing at 12.50% and consulting at 11.93%. The institute's placements page states 91 pre-placement offers, though that page carries no batch label of its own.

The MBA is described officially as "a two year full-time residential course spread over four semesters" (scmhrd.edu). Residential is not soft framing — the hostel line sits inside the published fee table rather than being offered as an add-on, so budget for it as a fixed cost.

Accommodation is triple-sharing with attached bathrooms in separate blocks for male and female students, with laundry, hot water and campus-wide Wi-Fi (scmhrd.edu, infrastructure page). The same page lists a library of over 24,000 books, a 300-capacity auditorium, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a health centre with a resident medical officer, and courts for basketball, badminton and table tennis.

The hostel and mess figures are published for Year 1 only:

• Hostel fees, three sharing: ₹1,12,500 in the first installment (2026-28 batch, scmhrd.edu official fee table)
• Mess fees: ₹59,800, appearing in both Year 1 installments (same source)
• Refundable hostel deposit: ₹20,000, one time (same source)

Costs beyond fees — travel, phone, laptop, personal spending — are not published by the institute and we will not invent a figure for them. The one structural point worth planning around is location: the campus sits inside Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi, close to major IT employers but a long commute from central Pune. That is convenient for corporate access and inconvenient for almost everything else.

The fee-to-salary arithmetic is the first filter. Year 1 alone is ₹8,57,800 plus ₹7,05,300 (2026-28 batch, official fee table), with Year 2 not yet fully published. If you are funding that on a loan and you land at the median rather than in the top decile, the repayment is a real constraint on your first three years of work. Run the EMI maths against the median for your intended specialisation — never against the headline highest package.

Second, specialisation matters more here than the institute name does. The Batch 2023-25 report shows a median of ₹21.63 LPA in HR against ₹13.60 LPA in Infrastructure Development and Management, at effectively the same fee. If IDM is your target and you are borrowing the full amount, that is a materially different payback conversation and deserves a spreadsheet before an application.

Third, two of the three programmes are closed to freshers. MBA (Business Analytics) requires a minimum of two years' full-time work experience after graduation, and MBA (IDM) requires 12 months' experience in infrastructure, energy, real estate, logistics or supply chain for non-engineering graduates (scmhrd.edu, official programme pages).

Fourth, if your budget assumes a subsidised Maharashtra state-quota seat, this is the wrong institute. There is no CAP route and no state quota — SNAP is the only entry and the published fee is the fee.

Finally, if you specifically want an institute whose placement data is submitted to and published by NIRF, SCMHRD does not currently appear in the Management rankings.

Compare on decision axes, not on rank lists.

Against SIBM Pune — the sibling institute inside the same university, also SNAP-only, also in Pune. The meaningful difference is external verification: SIBM Pune appears in the NIRF Management rankings (rank 11, score 67.90, NIRF 2025) and SCMHRD does not. If a NIRF-listed name matters to your family or to an employer's shortlist filter, that is a real distinction. Both are reached through the same exam and the same merit weightage, so applying to one costs you nothing on the other beyond the ₹1,000 programme fee.

Against XLRI Jamshedpur — the reference point for anyone choosing SCMHRD for HR specifically. XLRI runs a separate entrance test on a separate timeline, so this is not an either/or at application stage; it is a question of whether you sit one exam or two. If HR is the plan, sitting both is the cheaper hedge.

Against MDI Gurgaon — a CAT-based institute at a broadly comparable fee level. The axis is exam risk. SNAP is a 60-minute, 60-question test with up to three attempts in one cycle; CAT is a single annual attempt. Candidates who test inconsistently often find the three-attempt structure easier to plan around.

Against TAPMI Manipal — the axis is location and sector mix. SCMHRD sits in Pune's IT corridor with BFSI at 30.11% of visiting companies (Batch 2023-25 report), while TAPMI is a campus-town institute. Which suits you depends on whether proximity to recruiters or a contained campus environment matters more to how you work.
