QUICK OVERVIEW

SIIB Pune admission overview

SIIB Pune admission guidance for 2027: eligibility, entrance route, cutoffs, fees, placements, documents and choice-filling support.

Evidence note: Use the academic year shown beside changing figures and verify the linked official document before payment or choice locking.

1. SIIB Pune: What It Is and Where It Stands

Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB) is a constituent institute of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune. Its own About page states the institute was founded in 1992 (SIIB official About Us page). Because SIU is a deemed-to-be university, SIIB is not affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and does not admit through any state counselling process.

Three two-year MBA programmes run from the Hinjawadi campus (SIIB official Admissions Overview page):

  • MBA – International Business, running since 1992 (SIIB official Placements page)
  • MBA – Agri Business, running since 2004 (same source)
  • MBA – Sustainability Management, started in 2009 as MBA Energy & Environment (same source)

On accreditation, SIIB's site states that SIU is accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade, and that the MBA – International Business programme is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (SIIB official site).

On rankings, be precise about what is and is not SIIB. Symbiosis International is ranked 24 in the University category with a score of 59.16 (NIRF 2025, nirfindia.org University ranking). SIIB itself does not appear among the 100 institutions listed in the NIRF 2025 Management ranking; the Symbiosis entry on that list is Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune at rank 11, score 67.90 (NIRF 2025, nirfindia.org Management ranking). A university-level rank is not a b-school rank, and the two get conflated constantly in admission-season marketing.

2. Admission Route: How You Actually Get In

SIIB admits through one entrance test only. Its official How to Apply page names the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) as mandatory: you register at snaptest.org, obtain a SNAP ID, select the SIIB programme inside the SNAP form, and then pay a separate institute registration fee to SIIB. Registering for SNAP alone does not register you for SIIB β€” that second payment is the step applicants miss.

There is no MAH MBA-CET or DTE Maharashtra CAP route into SIIB. State CAP counselling covers affiliated and autonomous colleges under the Maharashtra CET Cell; a deemed university runs its own process, and SIIB's admission pages list no test other than SNAP.

SNAP structure, from the official SNAP test-structure page (SNAP 2025 cycle): 60 questions in 60 minutes, one mark each β€” General English 15 questions, Analytical & Logical Reasoning 25, Quantitative, DI and DS 20. Each wrong answer attracts 25% negative marking. A candidate may sit up to three SNAP tests and the higher score is used for the final percentile.

Stage two is GEPI β€” Group Exercise and Personal Interaction. SIIB states that shortlisting for GEPI is based on the SNAP score or percentile, after which a merit list follows. SIIB does not publish the weightage split between SNAP score, group exercise and interview: [FIGURE MISSING β€” AY2026-27]. Confirm it with admissions@siib.ac.in or the current prospectus rather than assuming a split.

Published calendar for the 2026-28 batch, marked tentative on the page (SIIB official Admission Calendar): SNAP registration 01-Aug-2025 to 20-Nov-2025; SIIB registration and payment close 13-Dec-2025; SNAP CBT on 06, 14 and 20-Dec-2025; SNAP result 09-Jan-2026; GEPI shortlist 20-Jan-2026; GEPI Phase I 6–8 Feb 2026, Phase II 13–15 Feb 2026; first merit list 12-Mar-2026; commencement 01-Jun-2026.

3. Fee Structure (What Is Officially Published)

SIIB publishes a per-programme fee sheet with four equal academic instalments spread across the two years, so the cost differs sharply by programme β€” International Business is roughly 1.6 times the other two.

In one line: for the 2026-28 batch the academic fee is β‚Ή5,15,500 per instalment for International Business, β‚Ή3,24,500 for Agri Business and β‚Ή3,23,000 for Sustainability Management, four instalments each (AY2026-28, SIIB official programme fee pages).

Programme (2026-28 batch)Academic fee per instalmentInstalmentsFour published instalments add to
MBA – International Businessβ‚Ή5,15,5004β‚Ή20,62,000
MBA – Agri Businessβ‚Ή3,24,5004β‚Ή12,98,000
MBA – Sustainability Managementβ‚Ή3,23,0004β‚Ή12,92,000

The right-hand column is SIIB's own instalment schedule added up, not an estimate β€” and it excludes hostel, mess and deposits. Instalment due dates for this batch are: at admission, 25-Nov-2026, 25-Jun-2027 and 25-Nov-2027.

In one line: hostel, mess and two refundable deposits sit on top of the academic fee, and only the Year-1 figures are published (AY2026-28, SIIB official programme fee pages).

Year-1 component (2026-28 batch)Amount
Hostel – single living (subject to availability)β‚Ή1,96,900
Hostel – three sharingβ‚Ή1,12,500
Hostel – four sharing (subject to availability)β‚Ή85,400
Mess fees (per instalment; two instalments in Year 1)β‚Ή59,800
Institute deposit (refundable, charged once)β‚Ή20,000
Hostel deposit (refundable, charged once)β‚Ή20,000

Year-2 hostel and mess figures are not published; the fee pages say they will be communicated before the next academic year begins, and note that hostel and mess fees can be increased by up to 15% each year. So the Year-2 living figure is [FIGURE MISSING β€” AY2027-28] β€” do not budget by doubling Year 1.

4. Cutoffs and Shortlisting: How to Read Them

SIIB does not publish a SNAP percentile cutoff. Its official admission pages state only that shortlisting for GEPI is based on the SNAP score or percentile, with the shortlist announced on siib.ac.in on the scheduled date. There is no cutoff table anywhere on the official site, so the honest entry is [FIGURE MISSING β€” AY2026-27].

That absence changes how you should plan. Four things actually drive whether you get a call:

  • Programme, not institute. The three programmes have very different intakes β€” 150 seats for International Business, 60 for Agri Business and 30 for Sustainability Management (SIIB official Intake and Eligibility Criteria page, which does not carry an academic-year label; confirm the current figures before relying on them). A 30-seat programme behaves nothing like a 150-seat one.
  • The three-attempt rule. SNAP allows up to three attempts with the higher score counting for the final percentile (official SNAP test-structure page). That compresses percentiles at the top of the distribution, which is why a percentile that sufficed one year may not the next.
  • Category. Published reservation is SC 15%, ST 7.5%, PwD 3%, children or wards of defence personnel 5% (International Business only), category reservation is SC 15%, ST 7.5%, PwD 3% and children or wards of defence personnel 5% (International Business only); over and above the total intake, SIIB lists 15% of total intake for international students and 2 seats for children of migrants from the Jammu and Kashmir valley (SIIB official Intake and Eligibility Criteria page, which does not carry an academic-year label)..
  • Eligibility floor. A bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institution of national importance with at least 50% marks, 45% for SC and ST. Final-year students may apply provisionally (same source).

A shortlist is not an admission. Clearing the GEPI cut only gets you into the interaction round; the merit list is a separate outcome.

5. Placements: What Is Verifiable

SIIB publishes a programme-wise placement report with median, average and percentile bands β€” which is more than most institutes disclose, and it lets you check the headline against the middle of the batch.

In one line: for the 2023-25 batch the median CTC was β‚Ή15.00 LPA for International Business, β‚Ή11.00 LPA for Agri Business and β‚Ή12 LPA for Sustainability Management (batch 2023-25, SIIB official Placement Report 2023-25 page).

Programme (batch 2023-25)Median CTCAverage CTCHighest CTCTop 25%Top 50%
MBA – International Businessβ‚Ή15.00 LPAβ‚Ή16 LPAβ‚Ή27.60 LPAβ‚Ή18.7 LPAβ‚Ή16.5 LPA
MBA – Agri Businessβ‚Ή11.00 LPAβ‚Ή12.60 LPAβ‚Ή21.60 LPAβ‚Ή15 LPAβ‚Ή13 LPA
MBA – Sustainability Managementβ‚Ή12 LPAβ‚Ή14 LPAβ‚Ή19.20 LPAβ‚Ή16 LPAβ‚Ή14 LPA

Read the median, not the highest. For International Business the average sits β‚Ή1 LPA above the median β€” a modest gap, meaning the distribution is not wildly skewed by a handful of outliers. For Sustainability Management the average is β‚Ή2 LPA above the median, so the β‚Ή19.20 LPA headline describes a small top slice, not a typical outcome.

Internship stipends show the same lesson more starkly. For International Business, batch 2023-25, the average stipend was β‚Ή40,413 but the median was β‚Ή22,000 (SIIB official SIP Report page) β€” the average is nearly double the middle student's experience.

What SIIB does not publish on these pages: batch size, number of offers and number of recruiters β€” all [FIGURE MISSING]. Its placements page states the institute has had 100% placements since inception; without a published batch size or offer count, that claim cannot be independently checked from the official documents.

6. Campus, Hostel and Living Costs

SIIB operates from a campus at G. No. 174/1, Hinjawadi, Taluka Mulshi, Dist. Pune 411 057 (SIIB official Contact page). Its infrastructure page places the campus inside Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, describes it as fully residential and aerodynamically designed, and states that solar energy meets 70% of its energy requirement.

Named hostel blocks on the official infrastructure page are the Girls Hostel, Gerbera Hostel and Boys Hostel. The same page lists a health care centre managed by Symbiosis Centre for Health Care, a swimming pool with monitored water quality and a free trainer, and a sports arena. The official infrastructure page describes a five-acre campus split into an academic block and a block shared with the Symbiosis Infotech Campus (SIIB official Infrastructure page). Hostel bed capacity is not stated anywhere on the official pages, so we do not state it.

The published hostel and mess figures are in section 3: three-sharing at β‚Ή1,12,500 and mess at β‚Ή59,800 per instalment for Year 1 of the 2026-28 batch, with a refundable β‚Ή20,000 hostel deposit at admission. Year 2 is [FIGURE MISSING β€” AY2027-28] by SIIB's own statement, and the pages warn that hostel and mess can rise up to 15% a year β€” so a two-year living budget built by doubling Year 1 will understate the real number.

Practical points that no fee sheet covers: Hinjawadi is a working IT corridor, which helps for corporate access but means peak-hour travel into central Pune is slow. Budget separately for a laptop, GEPI travel, course materials and any international-immersion or certification costs your programme adds. Ask the institute for the current year's exact obligations in writing before you commit a deposit.

7. Who Should NOT Choose SIIB Pune

If you are chasing a general-management brand at the very top of the market. SIIB does not appear in the NIRF 2025 Management list of 100 institutions. If your target is the recruiter set that hires from older IIMs, XLRI or SIBM Pune, another attempt at CAT or XAT may serve you better than accepting a seat here for the Symbiosis name alone.

If the whole cost is going on a loan and you are risk-averse. Work the arithmetic yourself before you sign: the International Business academic fee across four published instalments, plus Year-1 hostel and mess, against a median outcome of β‚Ή15.00 LPA for the 2023-25 batch. That is workable for most, but it is a real EMI against a real median β€” not against the β‚Ή27.60 LPA headline.

If you want a domestic marketing or HR generalist career. The International Business curriculum is built around export-import management, trade finance, FOREX and international commercial law (SIIB official programme overview). That is an asset if you want trade, global supply chain or an internationally-exposed role β€” and a detour if you do not.

If you want the brand but not the sector. Agri Business and Sustainability Management carry lower published medians than International Business, and their recruiter sets are sector-shaped by design. Choosing one purely to get into Symbiosis means accepting the sector that comes with it.

If residential living does not work for you. The campus is described as fully residential and the fee sheets carry a hostel deposit for every programme. Applicants with family or work obligations in Pune should clarify the obligation before applying.

8. How SIIB Pune Compares

Versus SIBM Pune β€” the general-management axis. Same university, same entrance test, so one SNAP attempt puts both in play. The difference is positioning and external validation: SIBM Pune is the Symbiosis entry in the NIRF 2025 Management ranking at rank 11 with a score of 67.90 (NIRF 2025, nirfindia.org), and SIIB is not on that list of 100. If your decision axis is a broad general-management brand, that gap is real and you should apply to both rather than choosing between them at form-filling stage.

Versus SCMHRD Pune β€” the functional-specialisation axis. Also a Symbiosis institute admitting through SNAP, but oriented towards HR, operations and business analytics. If you know your function and it is HR or analytics, SCMHRD is the more direct route; if you want a trade or sector orientation, SIIB is.

Versus IIFT Delhi β€” the direct international-business axis. IIFT is the obvious alternative for anyone specifically targeting international trade. It admits through its own entrance test rather than SNAP, which means a separate exam calendar and a separate preparation load β€” a scheduling decision as much as an academic one.

Versus IRMA Anand β€” the agri and rural axis. For applicants weighing MBA Agri Business, IRMA is the specialist comparison on curriculum and recruiter set. Compare the two on the sector roles each actually places into, using each institute's own placement report, not aggregator summaries.

Check affordability before choice filling

Admission route, eligibility and preference order come first. As one decision checkpoint, enter the loan you may need to see the EMI and total interest before locking a college in your counselling choices.

CALCULATORWhat will this loan actually cost you?
Monthly EMIβ‚Ή16,344
Total interestβ‚Ή3,72,894
Total repaidβ‚Ή13,72,894
Take-home needed (EMI ≀ 40%)β‚Ή40,860/mo

Standard reducing-balance arithmetic on the numbers you enter β€” your actual rate and moratorium terms depend on the lender. The 40% ceiling is this site's own ROI rule: an EMI above 40% of take-home leaves nothing for rent, food or savings.

Frequently asked questions

Which entrance exams does SIIB Pune accept?

Only SNAP. SIIB's official How to Apply page names the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test as mandatory for every applicant. You register at snaptest.org, receive a SNAP ID, select the SIIB programme inside the SNAP form, and then pay a separate SIIB registration fee. There is no MAH MBA-CET, CAT or state CAP route into SIIB, and no alternative test is listed.

Does SIIB Pune require work experience for its MBA programmes?

No. The published eligibility on SIIB's official Intake and Eligibility Criteria page is a bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institution of national importance with at least 50% marks, or 45% for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. Final-year students may apply, subject to meeting that minimum. Work experience is not a listed requirement, though it can help you in the personal interaction.

How does SIIB shortlist candidates for GEPI?

SIIB states that shortlisting for GEPI β€” Group Exercise and Personal Interaction β€” is based on your SNAP score or percentile, with the shortlist published on siib.ac.in on the scheduled date, followed by a merit list. The institute does not publish a percentile cutoff or the weightage split between SNAP, group exercise and interview, so ask admissions directly rather than relying on aggregator numbers.

Is hostel accommodation compulsory at SIIB Pune?

SIIB's infrastructure page describes the campus as fully residential, and every published programme fee sheet carries a refundable hostel deposit alongside the academic fee, with hostel listed as single living, three sharing or four sharing. Single and four sharing are both marked subject to availability. Confirm the exact obligation for your batch in the current prospectus before you finalise a budget.

What scholarships and education loan options does SIIB list?

SIIB's scholarship page lists the National Scholarship Portal route, SIU merit scholarships for the top four students in each batch each semester, five merit scholarships for IIT graduates carrying a 20% academic fee waiver, and a North-East Region scholarship, plus ONGC, IDFC FIRST Bank and Mirae Asset schemes. For loans it names Bank of Maharashtra, SBI, Axis, IDBI, Bank of India and Bank of Baroda, and advises contacting the banks directly.

How should I verify the latest SIIB Pune admission route?

Start with SNAP and the institute selection process. Then match the current prospectus, application notice and counselling schedule on the official authority or institute website. A route from an older cycle should not be assumed to remain unchanged.

How should I read the SIIB Pune cutoff shown on this page?

Read the exam, year, round, category, quota, branch and closing-rank or percentile label together. A cutoff from another category or an earlier round is not a promise of admission in the current cycle.

How do I confirm the complete fee for SIIB Pune?

Use the current official fee notice and add tuition, development or university charges, deposits, hostel, mess and other compulsory costs. Ask for the payable amount and refund terms in writing before transferring money.

Extended admission FAQs

Do placement figures guarantee an outcome at SIIB Pune?

No. A highest, average, median or placement-rate figure describes a particular batch and methodology. Prefer a completed, dated report with batch size and branch-level context; it cannot guarantee an individual salary or job.

Can anyone guarantee direct admission to SIIB Pune?

No counsellor can override eligibility, merit, counselling or the institute's published process. Use only official portals and receipts, and do not pay an individual who promises a confirmed seat outside the documented route.

Which documents should I prepare for SIIB Pune admission?

Keep the current exam scorecard, identity and nationality proof, Class 10 and 12 records, leaving or transfer certificate, allotment letter and payment receipt. Domicile, category, income, NCL, EWS, migration, gap or NRI documents apply only where the current authority requires them.

What should I compare before placing SIIB Pune in my preference list?

Compare the exact branch or programme, admission probability, total cost, location, accreditation, published outcomes and a realistic fallback option. Never list a college you would be unable or unwilling to join if allotted.

What if a current SIIB Pune figure is still unverified?

Treat it as pending rather than filling the gap with an aggregator estimate. Use the previous completed cycle only as historical context and wait for the competent authority or institute to publish the current figure.

How current is the information on this SIIB Pune page?

The page shows its publication or update date and keeps changing figures tied to an academic year. No page-specific primary source is registered yet, so current figures require direct verification.

How can Future Career Guidance help with SIIB Pune admission?

We help interpret eligibility, compare realistic options, organise documents and build a preference or application plan. We do not guarantee allotment, bypass merit or collect unofficial cash premiums for seats.

Which source takes priority if two SIIB Pune figures conflict?

Use the newest document issued by the competent counselling authority, regulator or institute for the same year, quota and programme. A dated primary document takes priority over an undated webpage, brochure summary or third-party listing.
