SIOM Nashik admission overview

SIOM Nashik admission guidance for 2027: eligibility, entrance route, cutoffs, fees, placements, documents and choice-filling support.

Evidence note: Use the academic year shown beside changing figures and verify the linked official document before payment or choice locking.

1. SIOM Nashik: What It Is and Where It Stands

Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management (SIOM), Nashik is a constituent institute of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), listed under SIU's Faculty of Management (SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27). It was established in 2005 and inaugurated by Mr. Baba Kalyani, Managing Director of Bharat Forge Ltd (SIU official SIOM page, snaptest.org). Dr. Vandana Sonwaney is the Director; she joined Symbiosis in 2001 (SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27, director profile). Her year of appointment as Director is [FIGURE MISSING — AY2026-27].

It is a private deemed-university institute, not a government or state-affiliated one. SIU holds UGC Category-I status and an 'A++' grade from NAAC (siu.edu.in). The MBA (Operations Management) is NBA accredited from AY2024-25 to AY2026-27 (SIU official SIOM page). The AICTE Extension of Approval dated 03-Jan-2025 lists SIU's Nashik campus with an approved intake of 150 for MBA (Operations Management) and 30 for MBA (Agri Operations Management) for AY2025-26 (AICTE EoA 2025-26, published on siom.in).

Three programmes run from the single Nashik campus at Plot No. A-23, Shravan Sector, New CIDCO:

  • MBA (Operations Management), intake 120 (SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27)
  • MBA (Agri Operations Management), intake 30 (same source)
  • MBA (Operations Management) dual degree with Durham University Business School, UK, intake 05, semesters 1 and 4 at SIOM, 2 and 3 at Durham (same source)

All three are two-year, full-time, non-residential programmes. SIOM does not appear in the NIRF 2024 or NIRF 2025 Management participated-institute lists; its parent university, Symbiosis International, Pune, was ranked 24 in the NIRF 2025 University category with a score of 59.16 (nirfindia.org).

2. Admission Route: How You Actually Get In

There is one route in, and it is SNAP. Every MBA at SIU requires the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, and SIOM Nashik is listed among the institutes for which it is mandatory (snaptest.org). There is no MAH MBA-CET or DTE CAP seat here: SIU's caution notice states admission to all its programmes is on merit, assessed through SNAP for postgraduate studies.

SNAP 2025 was a 60-minute computer-based test of 60 questions (General English 15, Analytical and Logical Reasoning 25, Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency 20), one mark each, with 25% negative marking. A candidate may sit up to three tests and the higher score is used for the final percentile (snaptest.org, SNAP 2025 test structure).

The published sequence:

  • Register and pay for SNAP, ₹2,250 per test, non-refundable (SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27)
  • Apply to SIOM in the same form, ₹1,000 per programme, non-refundable
  • Institute shortlist, then slot booking for GE (Group Exercise) and PI (Personal Interview)
  • Merit list, then fee payment inside the stated window

For the 2026-28 batch the published dates were SNAP tests on 6, 14 and 20 December 2025; result 9 January 2026; SIOM registration closing 14 January 2026; shortlist 20 January 2026; GE-PI across 6-8, 13-15 and 20-22 February 2026; first merit list 14 March 2026; commencement 1 June 2026 (SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27, marked tentative). Eligibility for MBA (OM) is a BE or B.Tech in any stream with 50% marks, 45% for SC/ST. MBA (AOM) accepts any graduate on the same rule.

3. Fee Structure (What Is Officially Published)

SIOM publishes an approved fee structure for Batch 2026-2028 in the academic year 2026-2027 for Indian students on its MBA (Operations Management) page. These are the figures exactly as published there.

Head, MBA (Operations Management)AY2026-27, Indian students
Academic fees (per annum)₹9,50,000
Institute deposit (refundable, one-time)₹20,000
Hostel deposit (refundable, one-time)₹20,000
Hostel fees, three sharing (per annum)₹1,05,900
Mess fees (per annum)₹1,19,600

In one line: the published academic fee is ₹9,50,000 a year for AY2026-27, and hostel plus mess adds ₹2,25,500 in year one (AY2026-27, SIOM official approved fee structure).

The instalment schedule is the only safe basis for a total. It shows ₹6,80,700 at admission and ₹5,34,800 by 25 November 2026 in year one, ₹12,15,500 including deposits, hostel and mess, then ₹4,75,000 by 25 June 2027 and ₹4,75,000 by 25 November 2027 in year two, which is academic fees only. Second-year hostel and mess are not published; the sheet says they will be communicated before the next academic year and may rise up to 15%, so that figure is [FIGURE MISSING - AY2027-28]. Government taxes are additional.

Two further published points. Discretionary Quota seats carry double the open-category academic fee for the whole programme, and SIU states no donation or capitation fee is charged. For international applicants the sheet lists US$17,625 in the NRI/PIO/OCI category as academic fees plus institute deposit plus administrative fees — hostel and mess are billed separately on top — and US$3,150 on the same basis for Foreign Nationals after the Symbiosis Golden Jubilee Scholarship (AY2026-27, SIOM official approved fee structure). and US$3,150 for Foreign Nationals after the Symbiosis Golden Jubilee Scholarship.

4. Cutoffs and Shortlisting: How to Read Them

SIOM does not publish a SNAP percentile or score cutoff for MBA (Operations Management): not on its programme page, not in the SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27, not on snaptest.org. Anyone quoting you a SIOM cutoff percentile is quoting an aggregator's estimate, not an official number. The honest position is [FIGURE MISSING - AY2026-27].

What is published is the mechanism, and it changes how you should play the exam:

  • SNAP is scored out of 60 raw marks and converted to a percentile (snaptest.org, SNAP 2025 test structure)
  • Up to three attempts are allowed and the higher score is taken, so a weak first test is recoverable
  • Each wrong answer costs 25% of a mark, which makes accuracy worth more than attempt volume
  • The institute, not the university, sets its shortlist each year against its intake: 120 seats for MBA (OM) in the SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27, against an AICTE-approved intake of 150 for AY2025-26

The shortlist appears as a named list on siom.in, followed by GE-PI slot booking; for the 2026-28 cycle the shortlist date was 20 January 2026 (SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27). SIU publishes a numeric weightage for some institutes (SIBM Bengaluru uses SNAP scaled to 50, Group Exercise 10, Personal Interaction 40) but the SIOM section publishes no split. Treat any weightage quoted for SIOM as unverified.

5. Placements: What Is Verifiable

SIOM publishes its own full-time employment reports. Read median and average separately: the gap is the story.

MBA (Operations Management) batchMedian CTCAverage CTCHighest CTCReport status
2024-26₹13.50 lakh₹15.59 lakh₹37.92 lakhInterim, as of January 2026
2023-25₹13.00 lakh₹14.05 lakh₹28.00 lakhFinal, 100% of the batch, as of June 2025
2022-24₹14.27 lakh₹14.50 lakh₹30.00 lakhInterim, 97.84% of the batch, as of June 2024

In one line: across the three published batches the median sat between ₹13.00 lakh and ₹14.27 lakh while the average ran ₹0.23 lakh to ₹2.09 lakh higher (SIOM official full-time employment placement reports, batches 2022-24, 2023-25 and 2024-26).

The 2024-26 gap is the widest, a median of ₹13.50 lakh against an average of ₹15.59 lakh, pulled up by a top decile averaging ₹29.91 lakh. The same report gives Top 25% ₹23.14 lakh, Top 50% ₹19.09 lakh and Top 75% ₹16.99 lakh; these are band averages, not medians. Recruiters numbered 39, of which 9 were new, and the sector split was Manufacturing 36.4%, Consulting and BFSI 33.6%, IT/ITES and Retail 21.4%, FMCG 6.4%, Logistics 2.1%.

Two caveats. The 2024-26 report is interim and states neither batch strength nor percentage placed, so both are [FIGURE MISSING - Batch 2024-26]. The MBA (Agri Operations Management) report for the same batch shows a median of ₹6 lakh and an average of ₹6.50 lakh.

6. Campus, Hostel and Living Costs

SIOM runs from one campus, at Plot No. A-23, Shravan Sector, New CIDCO, Nashik 422008. All three MBA programmes are designated full-time and non-residential in the SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27, so hostel accommodation is an opt-in rather than part of the programme.

What the institute publishes about residence and campus life:

  • Separate hostels for boys and girls with attached toilets and bathrooms (siom.in, campus infrastructure)
  • 24-hour hot and cold water, with rooms furnished with cot, mattress, table, chair, cupboard and book rack
  • Gymnasium, cardio, yoga and aerobics, basketball and badminton courts, pool table
  • Symbiosis Centre for Health Care with a resident doctor, and Symbiosis Centre for Health Care with a resident doctor, and every student insured under Mediclaim with the National Insurance Company for ₹50,000 hospitalisation cover and ₹1,00,000 in case of road traffic accidents (siom.in campus infrastructure; SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27)

On cost, the approved fee structure publishes hostel at ₹1,05,900 per annum for three sharing and mess at ₹1,19,600 per annum, plus a refundable ₹20,000 hostel deposit (AY2026-27, SIOM official approved fee structure). The sheet notes rates vary by accommodation type (single, twin, three, four sharing, dormitory) but only the three-sharing rate is published, so single and twin sharing are [FIGURE MISSING - AY2026-27]. Second-year rates are stated as to be communicated, and may rise up to 15%.

Nashik is the practical trade-off. It sits in an industrial belt, and the prospectus notes every student visits at least one company in and around Nashik, useful for an operations degree. It is not Mumbai or Pune.

7. Who Should NOT Choose SIOM Nashik

This is a narrow school by design, and the narrowness should decide it for you.

If you are not an engineer, MBA (Operations Management) is closed, because eligibility is a BE or B.Tech. MBA (Agri Operations Management) accepts any graduate, but its published outcomes sit in a different band, so do not use the OM placement report to justify an AOM decision.

If you want marketing, front-office finance or product management, the sector mix is against you. In the 2024-26 interim report Manufacturing plus Consulting and BFSI accounted for 70% of offers, and the role list is dominated by supply chain, procurement, planning and operations analytics titles.

If the fee only works on a full loan, do the arithmetic before the GE-PI, not after. The institute's own instalment schedule puts year one at ₹12,15,500 including deposits, hostel and mess. Set that against the 2024-26 interim median of ₹13.50 lakh gross, not against the ₹37.92 lakh highest, and not against the average, which the top decile inflates.

If you want a ministry-verified outcome benchmark, note that SIOM does not appear in the NIRF 2024 or NIRF 2025 Management participated-institute lists. The numbers you are deciding on are the institute's own reports, detailed and consistent across three batches, but with no NIRF submission to cross-check them against.

And if a Discretionary Quota seat is being suggested to you, the published fee is double the open-category academic fee, for the entire programme.

8. How SIOM Nashik Compares

The comparisons that matter are mostly inside the Symbiosis system: one SNAP score plus ₹1,000 per programme buys several shots on one form.

Against SIBM Pune the axis is specialisation versus breadth. SIBM Pune is SIU's general-management flagship and does appear in the NIRF 2025 Management participated-institute list, which SIOM does not. If you want a generalist MBA label and a Pune address, that is the trade. If you want two years spent entirely on operations and supply chain, with a peer group that is entirely engineers, SIOM is the tighter fit.

Against SCMHRD Pune the axis is analytics adjacency. SCMHRD runs MBA (Business Analytics) and MBA (Infrastructure Development and Management) alongside its flagship, closer to an operations career than a generalist MBA, on the same SNAP entry.

Against SIIB Pune the axis is domain. Its MBA (International Business) and MBA (Agri Business) overlap SIOM's supply-chain and agri ground from a trade and business-development angle rather than a plant-and-process one.

Against SIBM Nagpur the axis is cost and city tier at a similar SNAP band, worth listing as a backup on the same form rather than a first preference.

One axis SNAP cannot settle: if your target is a CAT-route operations programme, that is a different exam, timeline and fee band, and it needs deciding before December, not after your SNAP result.

Check affordability before choice filling

Admission route, eligibility and preference order come first. As one decision checkpoint, enter the loan you may need to see the EMI and total interest before locking a college in your counselling choices.

CALCULATORWhat will this loan actually cost you?
Monthly EMI₹16,344
Total interest₹3,72,894
Total repaid₹13,72,894
Take-home needed (EMI ≤ 40%)₹40,860/mo

Standard reducing-balance arithmetic on the numbers you enter — your actual rate and moratorium terms depend on the lender. The 40% ceiling is this site's own ROI rule: an EMI above 40% of take-home leaves nothing for rent, food or savings.

Frequently asked questions

Which entrance exams does SIOM Nashik accept?

SNAP, the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, is the only route. SIOM Nashik is listed among the SIU institutes for which SNAP is mandatory (snaptest.org). There is no MAH MBA-CET or DTE CAP seat here, and SIU's caution notice states admission to all its programmes is on merit assessed through SNAP. You register for SNAP and for SIOM on the same application form.

Do I need work experience to get into SIOM Nashik?

No. The published eligibility for MBA (Operations Management) is a BE or B.Tech in any stream with 50% marks, 45% for SC/ST, and final-year students may apply (SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27). Work experience is not required, but it is common: SIOM's 2022-24 full-time employment report records 84% laterals against 16% freshers, with average experience of 28 months.

How does SIOM shortlist candidates, and what is the GE-PI weightage?

SNAP scores decide the institute shortlist; shortlisted candidates book slots for a Group Exercise and Personal Interview, after which the merit list is declared (SIU PG Prospectus 2026-27). SIU publishes a numeric weightage for some of its institutes, such as SIBM Bengaluru, but the SIOM section publishes none. Treat any SIOM-specific weightage you see quoted elsewhere as unverified.

Is hostel accommodation available, and what does it cost?

Yes. SIOM lists separate boys' and girls' hostels with attached bathrooms, 24-hour hot and cold water and furnished rooms. The AY2026-27 approved fee structure publishes hostel at ₹1,05,900 per annum for three sharing, mess at ₹1,19,600 per annum, and a refundable ₹20,000 hostel deposit. Other sharing types are not published, and second-year rates may rise up to 15%.

How do education loans and scholarships work at SIOM?

SIOM publishes education-loan information sheets from Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda and ICICI Bank on its own site; the terms come from the bank, not the institute. On scholarships, SIU awards merit concessions in academic fees to the first four semester toppers of each batch, at 20%, 15%, 10% and 5%, adjusted against the following semester's fee rather than paid in cash.

How should I verify the latest SIOM Nashik admission route?

Start with SNAP and the institute selection process. Then match the current prospectus, application notice and counselling schedule on the official authority or institute website. A route from an older cycle should not be assumed to remain unchanged.

How should I read the SIOM Nashik cutoff shown on this page?

Read the exam, year, round, category, quota, branch and closing-rank or percentile label together. A cutoff from another category or an earlier round is not a promise of admission in the current cycle.

How do I confirm the complete fee for SIOM Nashik?

Use the current official fee notice and add tuition, development or university charges, deposits, hostel, mess and other compulsory costs. Ask for the payable amount and refund terms in writing before transferring money.

Extended admission FAQs

Do placement figures guarantee an outcome at SIOM Nashik?

No. A highest, average, median or placement-rate figure describes a particular batch and methodology. Prefer a completed, dated report with batch size and branch-level context; it cannot guarantee an individual salary or job.

Can anyone guarantee direct admission to SIOM Nashik?

No counsellor can override eligibility, merit, counselling or the institute's published process. Use only official portals and receipts, and do not pay an individual who promises a confirmed seat outside the documented route.

Which documents should I prepare for SIOM Nashik admission?

Keep the current exam scorecard, identity and nationality proof, Class 10 and 12 records, leaving or transfer certificate, allotment letter and payment receipt. Domicile, category, income, NCL, EWS, migration, gap or NRI documents apply only where the current authority requires them.

What should I compare before placing SIOM Nashik in my preference list?

Compare the exact branch or programme, admission probability, total cost, location, accreditation, published outcomes and a realistic fallback option. Never list a college you would be unable or unwilling to join if allotted.

What if a current SIOM Nashik figure is still unverified?

Treat it as pending rather than filling the gap with an aggregator estimate. Use the previous completed cycle only as historical context and wait for the competent authority or institute to publish the current figure.

How current is the information on this SIOM Nashik page?

The page shows its publication or update date and keeps changing figures tied to an academic year. No page-specific primary source is registered yet, so current figures require direct verification.

How can Future Career Guidance help with SIOM Nashik admission?

We help interpret eligibility, compare realistic options, organise documents and build a preference or application plan. We do not guarantee allotment, bypass merit or collect unofficial cash premiums for seats.

Which source takes priority if two SIOM Nashik figures conflict?

Use the newest document issued by the competent counselling authority, regulator or institute for the same year, quota and programme. A dated primary document takes priority over an undated webpage, brochure summary or third-party listing.
